Last Thursday’s GameCityNights was a brilliant doodleathon, a synaesthetic spectacle and an interactive marvel all wrapped up in one evening.
Many thanks to our special guest, Chris O’Shea for giving us a fascinating insight into his Kinect-enabled interactive multimedia work. We’re really looking forward to seeing what amazing projects he has coming up in the future.
The marvellous Dr Sketchy’s were the best guest hosts we could ever have hoped for. They brought a touch of glamour and a lot of Mario costumes to the evening with their own brand of life drawing class. Everyone’s hidden artistic talents emerged after a series of challenges set by comperes, Charlotte Thomson and Scarlett Daggers.
We urge everyone to attend Dr Sketchy’s next event on August Saturday 20th for a Viva Las Vegas themed spectacular. More information can be found at www.drsketchynottingham.co.uk.
The mesmerising Child of Eden took centre stage for the remainder of the night as we showcased the pinnacle of Kinect gameplay.
More thanks go to NerfGames, Richard England and Steven Halley for bringing their games along for everyone to try out.
Loads of photos of the night can be found over on Flickr.
GameCityNights is taking a short break over summer, but we’ll be back very soon with news about October’s GameCity6 festival! It’s all very exciting.
