OK, no more pirate related gags. We’ll overlook the giggle-inducing puns about poop-decks. Instead, we’ll just get straight to the point and tell you that Jonathan Smith, the man behind undoubtedly THE most successful series of film-to-game titles is joining this month’s GameCityNights to show off LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean.

Yes, games adapted from films are notorious for being hit and miss, though no series has had more success than TT Games’ brick based LEGO iterations. So far, Batman, Harry Potter, Star Wars and Indiana Jones have all undergone the silent treatment (ahem) to be reborn as hugely entertaining, cute-but-mute games, and now those rum swigging nautical marauders have joined the ranks.

So, what can you expect from the evening, specifically from Jonathan himself?

Frontend – Mr Smith will share the secrets of life at TT Games or be forced to walk the plank. From the studios’ creation to its current state, fans will get to know what goes on behind the scenes, as well as understand the successes of one of Britain’s most celebrated studio heads.

The big reveal – Not only will Jonathan present the latest game to the audience, but also offer a guided tour through its creation, unpacking the challenges associated with bringing some of cinema’s most iconic characters to your consoles without voices but with all of their charm.

A game – yes, we’re renowned for our skills at inventing party games; play-doh sculpting, monster drawing, story writing, quick draw firing, our competitions are always unique and there’ll undoubtedly be something for you all to enjoy (but we wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise).
